The Kintampo Health Research Centre, represented by Dr. Kwaku Poku Asante, Dr. Sulemana Watara Abubakari and Ms. Theresa Tawiah attended the launch of the national LPG promotion programme (NLPGPP) held in Obuasi on september 6, 2022.
The Ministry of Energy is rolling out the National LPG Promotion Programme (NLPGPP) as part of Government's efforts toward the promotion of LPG as a cleaner, safer and healthier cooking fuel.
The objective of the programme is to provide government interventions that would accelerate the switch from unclean fuels to LPG in a bid to achieve the goal of 50 percent access by 2030.
The implementation of the NLPGPP which will include the distribution of LPG cook stoves and related accessories to households, commercial caterers and Senior High and Technical Vocational Schools (SHTVS) as well as making LPG cylinders accessible will cause an increase in users of LPG as a clean cooking fuel.
The launch, which saw the convergence of various stakeholders in the LPG value chain, marked the commencement of the distribution exercise and other allied activities under the NLPGPP.
