The team looked at the impact of mining on the health of the community members of New Abirem, in the Eastern Region. Mining has been done in the area for more then 15 years. Before the company started their activities, a health impact assessment was carried out before the necessary permits were given. The current survey was to assess as a follow up to check if over the period, the life of the people has been affected negatively.
The main objective of the household survey was to find out what factors affected the life of people who lived in the mining area.
