Dean Of School Of Public Health, UDS Visits KHRC

The Centre was honored to host Prof. Adadow Yidana, Dean of the School of Public Health, University for Development Studies (UDS) accompanied by Dr. Livesy Abokyi, Lecturer at UDS on March 21, 2023. The purpose of the visit was to discuss opportunities for collaboration between the two institutions. An invitation was extended to the Interdepartmental members to partake in the discussions.

Dr. Kwaku Poku Asante, Director of the Centre, welcomed the team and highlighted the activities of KHRC including capacity building opportunities provided by the Centre, research priorities areas, collaborations, community engagement, among others.

Prof. Adadow Yidana gave an overview of the various departments and human resources available at the School of Public Health, UDS. In his presentation, he as well mentioned the various programmes (undergraduates and postgraduates) which are offered by the school. He also elaborated on some possible areas of collaboration. He expressed the possibility of building partnership with KHRC which will yield mutual benefits.

Prof. Adadow Yidana expressed his excitement about this collaboration since it will aid students have practical experience and also facilitate internships opportunities for students. Following his comments, there were general discussions about avenues for staff of KHRC with PhDs to also have opportunity to join the School of Public Health.

The team was given a tour of the KHRC facility to familiarize themselves with the activities of the Centre.
