KHRC Participates in Global Environmental and Occupational Health (GEO Health) In Nairobi, Kenya

KHRC participated in the Global Environmental and Occupational Health (GEO Health) training held in Nairobi, Kenya from December 4, 2022 to December 9, 2022. The centre was represented by Dr. Sulemana Watara Abubakari, head of Environmental Health Research.
GEO Health is National Institutes of Health (NIH)-funded opportunity and seeks to address the research and training needs in environmental and occupational health.
The workshop advances interdisciplinary research and training programs under the joint leadership of Columbia University (USA) and Addis Ababa University (Ethiopia) in partnership with several universities in the USA and Eastern African partners (University of Nairobi [Kenya] and Makerere University [Uganda]).
As a collaborator of the core GEOHealth Hub team, KHRC was invited to make essential leadership contributions to the workshop.
KHRC's major activities including environmental health studies, clinical trials, the Health and Demographic Surveillance System (HDSS) as well as infrastructure at the Laboratory and Computer Centre were discussed.
KHRC was also mentioned as a training center for institutions within and outside Ghana
