Kintampo South District Hospital receives Firefly Machines from KHRC

KHRC Presents Firefly Phototherapy Machines to the Kintampo South District Hospital

The Kintampo Health Research Centre (KHRC) presented two firefly phototherapy machines to the Kintampo South District Hospital. The presentation aims to enhance the hospital's capacity to provide critical medical care, particularly for newborns.



Mrs. Charlotte Tawiah Agyemang, representing KHRC, expressed deep gratitude for the longstanding partnership between the research centre and the hospital. Notably, she highlighted the pivotal role of collaboration in ongoing projects such as the PRiSMA study, which aims to collect harmonized data to inform the development of innovative strategies to optimize pregnancy outcomes for mothers and their newborns.





The machines, crucial for neonatal care, were presented by Mrs. Charlotte Tawiah Agyemang, Mr. Ben Toffah, and Mr. Andrews Boakye.



Upon receiving the machines, Dr. Deborah Danso, the acting Medical Superintendent of the hospital, expressed profound appreciation to KHRC for their invaluable contribution. Joining her in accepting the donation were Mr. Moses Ankomah, the hospital's Accountant, Mr. Peter Mensah, the Stores manager, Vivian Sassi, Nurse Manager and Ms Linda TK, NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) Ward In-charge.
