Executive Director of the Office of Health Equity Research and Senior Research Scientist at Yale University, Dr. Daniel Sarpong Visits KHRC

Dr. Daniel Sarpong, the Executive Director of the Office of Health Equity Research,Senior Research Scientist at Yale University, and the chair of the DSMB hypertension study at KHRC (TASSH) on 8th August, 2023 paid a visit to KHRC to learn more about the Centre's operations and to discuss possible collaboration between KHRC and Yale University.

During his visit, Dr. John Amoah, a Research Fellow at KHRC, gave a presentation that showcased the diverse activities of the Centre. He highlighted KHRC’s key research areas, strategic collaborations, community engagement activities and capacity-building opportunities provided by the Centre.

Dr. Amoah also provided detailed insights into projects run by the Centre. These projects covered areas including maternal and child health studies, clinical trials, environmental health, non-communicable diseases, mental health and malaria studies.

After the presentation, the heads of units of the institution engaged in discussions of potential areas for collaborations that will inform policy.

Dr. Sarpong was given a tour of the Seth Owusu Agyei laboratory to familiarize himself with activities undertaken at the clinical laboratory.
