KHRC Collaborators from CWP and Columbia University visit the Centre

The Kintampo Health Research Centre (KHRC) on July 19, 2023, hosted a team of collaborators and funders from the Columbia World Projects and the Columbia University. As part of the visit, presentations were made by both institutions to showcase the significant works being carried out by both institutions.
Dr. Sulemana Watara Abubakari, head of KHRC's Environmental Health Research, delivered a presentation showcasing the Centre's diverse activities. He highlighted KHRC's research priorities areas, strategic collaborations, community engagement initiatives, capacity-building opportunities offered by the Centre, among others.
Representing Columbia World Projects (CWP) , Peter Twyman presented an overview of the CWP, an initiative by the Columbia University. He explained that CWP aims to mobilize the expertise of the university's researchers and scholars to work with organizations such as KHRC to tackle pressing global challenges.
Mr. Twyman also highlighted some of the impactful activities that CWP has undertaken, such as projects, operating the Obama Foundation Scholars Program, as well as funding and partnering with other institutions.
He further extended his heartfelt gratitude to KHRC for the warm reception and the insightful presentation about the Centre. He also congratulated KHRC for the positive impact it has made in the past 30 years.
